The Master's of Business Administration continues to prove itself as a degree worth pursuing. With technology and the global market continuing to make business leadership more competitive than ever, business leaders seeking positions in management need an edge. The MBA prepares workers with the skills they need to be successful at being relevant in the workplace.
While most professionals cannot enjoy the luxury of being able to put their careers on hold and move to a new state for two or more years in order to complete a graduate degree in business, there is an excellent alternative to the traditional higher education route: the online Master's of Business Administration. This degree not only equips students with a solid foundation of business theory, it also stresses relevance in the changing climate of business and does so while allowing students the chance to set their own schedules for course completion.
While some online MBA degrees feature an affordable or very affordable tuition rate, the benefits of expense go beyond tuition when considering an online MBA. Traditional students not only are responsible for housing and campus meal plans, they often also have to pay for parking on campus and babysitting for their children when they are in campus classrooms for hours during the week. Online MBA students do not worry about any of these added expenses as they can often complete 100% of their coursework in the comfort of their own homes and on a time table that works for them.
Some students have margin in their professional and personal schedules which allow them the chance to take an accelerated approach to their education. Many business schools with 30-36-credit hour programs have designed their programs to be completed in a year or less using this format. Other business professionals have higher demands on their schedules requiring a slower pace for completion. For this reason, some online MBA programs allow students to register for fewer courses at a time and take up to seven years to graduate.
While there are many factors to consider in looking for the right online MBA program, characteristics like total tuition and ROI are obviously some of the most important to many potential students. For this reason, we have put together a ranking of the Top 50 Best Value Online MBAs in the country. Some programs are classified as expensive in total tuition yet graduates of these business schools often report strong annual salaries with positions they take in organizations after graduation. Graduates from other business schools report a lower return on the investment of education but some of those business schools listed offer programs at affordable and very affordable rates.
Each of these programs on our list has a reputation for quality in its curriculum and course structure. All listed business schools receive their business accreditation through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The AACSB is often referred to as the gold standard in accreditation. "Synonymous with the highest standards of excellence since 1916, AACSB provides quality assurance, business education intelligence, and professional development services to over 1,600-member organizations and more than 800 accredited business schools worldwide."
It is our hope that this ranking will aid you in finding the Best Value online MBA program that will be the right fit for you and your budget!
